fine art photography for the equine enthusiast

I have owned and ridden horses most of my life, so when I began taking photographs, specializing in equines was the natural fit. I derive great pleasure in capturing the beauty of the equine form in all its varieties, from a majestic draft stallion, to a Thoroughbred race horse, to a small pony. I shoot steeplechasing, fox hunting, hunter pace and eventing extensively, as well as horses at liberty. I am available for farm and portrait shoots in northern central Virginia.

I continually seek to improve my work by attending photography classes and seminars and maintaining membership in the Equine Photographers Network and the National Association of Photoshop Professionals. I am also a member of Women's Horse Industry and Virginia Equine Artists Association.

My work has received recognition at the Equine Ideal Photography Contest, Vienna Arts Society Photography Contest, Virginia Highlands Festival, Art Show at the Dog Show, Artspace National Juried Photography and Printmaking Exhibition, Maryland Federation of Art Artful Photography, Better Photo and Digital Image Cafe. It has been published in local newspapers, Steeplechase Times, Irish Times, Dressage Today, Covertside, the International Andalusian and Lusitano Horse Association Stallion Directory, Saluki Sightings, the National Steeplechase Assoc Annual Review, Stride and The Chronicle of the Horse. I am also a contributing photographer to Eclipse Sportswire.

My work is represented by Caulfield Gallery in Washington, Va and the Art Center of Orange in Orange, Va.
